Event overview: The 2nd Annual ECXC "Challenge" will start at 0900 on Friday, July 18th. Spectators are welcome and encouraged to cheer on their favorite team.
This year we will be using two (2) team classes for the Challenge: Stock and Modified. The stock class will be for all Xterra?s that retain their original drive train and axles; any other modifications will be permitted. The modified class will be for Xterra?s that have undergone an axle swap (SAS) or engine swap (don?t know of any but we?ll be covered just in case). Non-Xterra?s will not be permitted to participate in the Challenge.
There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prize awarded in each class, based upon total elapsed time through the course.
A team will be in the Modified class if it has at least one vehicle that fits the above criteria. If we don't get at least 3 teams in each class, we will combine all teams into a single competitive group but will assess all Modified teams a ?time-factor? and add it to their total elapsed time through the course.
Rules:1. The event staff will hold a drawing to determine the order of teams to contest the Challenge
2. Each team must have at least one winch equipped Xterra
3. Owners must drive their own vehicles during the event (unless directed otherwise by the Challenge judges)
4. A single spotter is permitted per vehicle. The spotter may use a spotting rope if desired.
5. ALL RC PARK RULES AND REQUIREMENTS WILL BE FOLLOWED AND MET (for example... 5 MPH on the trails/roads, safety and recovery equipment in place... etc.)
Signing-up: 1. You may use the forum area to post about potential teaming arrangements but, all teams MUST forward your driver/vehicle information to Will Broadus (
ihcscout@comast.net, 240-298-6234) as soon as you have your team established. This also includes identifying your spotters.
2. Driver/vehicle and spotter substitutions are permitted up till the start of the event on Friday but must be coordinated directly with Will (Phoenix) or Brad (RedX).
Trail Groups on Friday:Due to the Challenge event, we will not be running organized trail groups on Friday. Folks are encouraged to get together in groups of at least 2 vehicles and head-out into the park. A separate forum thread will be established for individuals to discuss potential group arrangements and trail selections for that day. We will be running our normal organized trail groups on Thursday and Saturday. Sunday will be an optional day at the park for those who desire to "wheel".
Please feel free to post, PM or email me any questions you may have.
