Most who have wheeled with me are amazed at how much crap I carry when I'm on the trail. I must admit it is over kill but it is all a result of having once been without something I needed and refused to be without again. I carry a combination of tool boxes and Rubbermaid containers (for fluids). I top off all the boxes and containers with an assortment of rags to keep the stuff from moving around, dampen the noise and clean up with. I'm sure there is a better way.
Dave (alliedacid) has what I refer to as his ?bag of tricks? a reference to the Felix the Cat cartoon that was before his (and most likely your) time and therefore over his head. The line in the cartoon went ?whenever he gets in a fix he reaches into his bag of tricks?. Dave carries this one small bag of tools on the trail and out of this bag he seems to pull the exact tool he needs every time. It is infuriating. I've witnessed him re-index torsion bars out of this bag (plus a set of jack stands). I've asked him to please write a list of the bag contents for me but that has not happen yet. When it does I will post it.
I know how that is, I bring tons of crap and what I need is at home, Dave brings a small bag and always has the right tool.
Oh, I'll bet you are all surprised that I have a yellow tool box.
