Saw a tan/brown 1st gen this monring around 7 near the Rowley/Georgetown exit. What looked like a shrockworks front bumper and 4 roof lights.

I was in a bit of a rush (late for work) but I was in a tinted out blue silverado that went by ya

Just wanted to say Hi

That would be me on my way to work as well down in Burlington; normally take the train but had to get in earlier so that's why I was driving.

Sadly not a Shrock bumper as I only learned about it a few weeks after I bought and installed my ARB bumper. Everything else for goodies you can see in my signature, and in the photos section under "My Little Mule."

Still have yet to make it on a NEXterra run after being on here for a while now; usually end up doing most of my runs with the ENH.com crowd since it always sorta spooks me doing runs further away from home in case of a mechanical issue...someday my balls will drop.

Thanks. It's been fun building it up bit by bit and doing some Class 6 trails by my house. Need to do some maintenance that I've been stalling on for a bit due to lack of time; new brakes and rotors and repacking the front wheel bearings while I'm in that deep, and probably just going to patch the hole in the muffler so I can pass inspection this month.

How do you like your 4Runner? I've been thinking of picking up one for my wife since we need to unload her Mazda CX-7, and I've heard really good things about them. I really dig the 1st gen 4Runners since they have the removable top, but unless I could find a really clean one for reasonable money I don't think she'd go with it so I'm probably left looking at a 2nd gen 4Runner (1990-1999?) since sadly she's not into the X's; perhaps I need to divorce her because of that, but then that would negate the $ saving bit (kidding about the divorce part).

The 2nd gen 4Runner like mine ran from 90-95, the 3rd gen 4Runner ran from 96-2002. You can find pretty good deals on them if you are paitent. As you know, there's usually one for sale over on exploringNH.

I like it well enough, but I would have rather had a 1st gen solid axle but, like you said, they're hard to come by for a decent price in good condition. And out of the IFS SUVs, I like the 3rd gen body style the best. I got a heck of a deal on my 4Runner since it wouldn't pass inspection and the previous owner just wanted to get rid of it - they had just bought a new car.
