The following information outlines the ECXC Competition that will be held on Friday the 17th. The event will start at 0900 that day.
1. 2 Xterras per team
2. One spotter per Xterra; no other assistance from the ?crowd? other than oral encouragement
3. There will be 2 vehicle classes: Stock and Modified
a. A Stock Xterra has NOT had a SAS, a powertrain-swap or removal of a major portion of the body; all other modifications are permitted
b. A Modified Xterra has had a SAS, a powertrain-swap or has removed a major portion of the body.
c. All vehicles in each class must meet the minimum requirements for equipment established by Rauch Creek. In addition, at least one vehicle in each team must be equipped with a winch and winching kit (kit includes a tree saver, D-rings ? etc.)
d. All vehicles must be appropriately equipped for ?Blue/Black level? obstacles. Inspections will be made on each Xterra on Thursday evening at the campgrounds or at 0830 on Friday morning prior to the competition. It is encouraged that vehicles get checked Thursday evening in case there are issues that need to be resolved such as obtaining a snatch-strap or repairing a component.
4. The Competition will consist of 4 Stages
5. All teams will complete a stage as a group and then move together to the next stage
6. Each team will be led separately to the starting point of each stage where the MAXC Judge will briefly explain the expectations/requirements for the particular stage, ask them if there questions, remind them that they can get clarification from the judge that's on-hand and then tell them that the timing of their run begins in 2 minutes.
7. There will be random selection of the order that the teams will attempt each stage. There will be no observation of the other teams attempting the obstacles within a stage by a team until they have completed the stage.
8. Each stage is timed. Order of elapsed time for each stage determines points awarded for the stage. The team with quickest time receives 10 points, 2nd quickest receives 8 points, 3rd quickest receives 6 points and 4th quickest receives 4 points.
9. There will be a time limit for each stage (TBD on the time).
10. Total points earned across the 4 stages determines the winning team which will be kept SECRET until Saturday night when the awards will be presented
