In the front I have installed Radflo 2.5's with PRG UCA's. Recently my suspension is making really loud banging noises when the suspension compresses. At first it was so loud I thought a leaf spring broke. But after careful listening It is definitely coming from the front end. The only three things I can think of are the coil overs, the PRG UCA's or the swaybar.

Has anyone else encountered suspension noises in the front end after a lift?

Does it occur when you hit small bumps? Big bumps?

My guess would be your swaybar end-links. Also check the torque on your contol arm bolts as well as the bolts on the coilovers.

Big bumps or turn a hard corner. Wherever the suspension has to move more than 20%. My guess is that it is the springs moving when complessed causing a binding noise. I have also thought it was the POS PGR uca's.

Hmm, I don't think it's the heim joints. Those usually make a knocking noise, not a loud bang.

While I'm certainly not as familiar with the 2nd Gen's suspension. I would be willing to bet it's the swaybar links/connections. They are easily trashed while offroading. They are meant to control and stabilize suspension movements at highway speeds and offroading certainly does not compliment that function.

After searching down many noises on my truck and replacing many swaybar parts, I just got rid of it. While I'm not suggesting you remove it, you will have problems with it if you offroad. I tried the Energy Suspension parts for my front swaybar and trashed them the first time I took it offroad. I would say, the best thing you could do is buy new links, personally, I'd go with stock, and remove it each time your going to do any heavy offroading.

the knocking is the swaybar links. Its sooo annoying. Im going to fab quick disconnect links with the uniball type joints.
