I just outfitted a second set of stock 16" wheels with some nice tires for offroading. I decided on 285/75/16 Firestone Destination M/T's. They're really close and will probably end up rubbing on the "inside - deepest into the well" edge of the plastic (see last 3 pics). It was dark, and a long day so I'll look into it more tomorrow & trim what I can.

Here are some side-by-sides of them vs my 265/75/16 BFG AT KO's.

They look great! You probably won't have to trim much. Half that size goes on the bottom, so the won't look quite as big when they are mounted.

Well, I got to try them out today, and they were great offroad....even being really overinflated. When turning though, even on flat ground they rub pretty bad. Basically this entire area: (note: the clean area shown here did not rub, I wiped that with my hand)

I will be trimming off the back plastic where outlined in red. My front end is sagging too, possibly about 1/2" or so, when I adjust the T-bars again it should help a bit. The face of the plastic which I've outlined seems to be mandatory to trim though. Is this also what you guys with 33's have had to trim on yours?

Oh, just for those that may not know, I do have a 2" Body Lift and PML.

I only had to trim the bottom of the mudflap and just the corner where you see the tire hitting in the pic, not the whole red area.

I left some of it to self trimming.

Thanks Scott. I'll start with that bottom inside corner, then at least whittle some more off across the bottom and see how it is. I think I may still need to remove some of the face part of it. Backing up seems worse and already provided a little self trimming.

Doesn't it make you sick that I can fit 285's stock?

:( ....a little....not to mention your X would'nt even flinch at the power loss...

I trimmed a bit more like Scott had, and they seem to be just kissing the well at the bottom inside corner, granted, thats even on flat land, but liveable. Should be alright for the time being...I'm still going to try to crank the T-bars back to where they were pre-bumper, but I'm not sure that I'll have time for an alignment before this weekend. I suppose I could probably get away without the alignment again, since It should be returning to the state it was when the alignment was done anyway, but we'll see...

Yeah 265 HP is quite nice. People don't realize how quick the X is.

 My tires came in today (BFG M/T 33x10.5 on 15x8 Rock Crawler rims)...I'll post the pics once they're on my X which will be either the weekend of the 8th or Good friday.

Congrats Greg, NICE!! What backspacing did you get for the 15x8 Rims? I'm quite interested in seeing how it turns out for you.
