Hey guys, I was invited on a trip to Moab, UT with Baystate Jeepers. Had a blast! Only rolled once, and didn't break anything. I did have to battery weld some u-joint caps to distorted axleshaft ears on a couple other rigs and we removed a toasted front ring gear in one dudes Dana30 in 17 minutes.

Pat Charron, who broke her ankle during a trail cut/cleanup, was able to come along and rode shotgun for the two week journey. It was about a 3 day drive out and the Rockies really tested the 5.4L in the big Ford, pulling about 11,500-12,000 lbs combined weight up 7% grades.
The drive out was really fun, and was akin to The Amazing Race.

I can't even begin to describe the terrain. If you guys ever get a chance to head out there, you'll have a blast! I highly recommend Dan Mick's guided tours too. Dan is an awesome guy and has been leading groups around Moab since dirt was clean.

Enjoy!

Me, coming up Potato Salad Hill.

Yeah, I hope she wasn't still in there while you jumped out to snap the pics. :)

No, she wasn't. I did however, almost roll with Pat inside. I was trying to climb a very steep rock that was better suited to a longer wheelbase. I was about half way up and lost traction. I slide back to the bottom and the front end went sideways (typical hill climb fail). Feeling the front sliding over, I turned into the slide and released the brake, which gave me momentum to roll backwards and save it.

I apologized to Pat (didn't want to roll with her in the Heep), but she said not to worry and that she was "ready for it". LOL

It was a freakn riot.

Yeah, the bead popped for a second and re-seated after cresting the hill. I have no idea how. I only had 5psi in my tires!
Sometimes fortune favors the brave. "When in doubt, power out!" LOL

That hill was a rush. The videos don't do the contour justice.
