East Coast Xterra Challenge – Wrap-Up

ECXCECXC 2011 was held at Rausch Creek Off-Road Park in Tremont, PA from July 14-17, 2011. The weather was the absolute best it had been in years, with blue skies and low temperatures during the day and a cool, crisp feeling during the nights. The attendees lodged a the Twin Grove KOA campground in tents, cabins, or cottages. And, a few attendees found solace in some of the nearby hotels. The event included 3 days of wheeling, 3-4 nights camping and a huge BBQ and Raffle on the final night of the event. The event was finally concluded with a twilight after party hosted by NeXterra in the tent section of the Twin Grove KOA.

Nexterra Black’n Blue Run

Nexterra will be hosting a small run at Rausch Creek on May 21st, 2011,  running Black & Blue trails.

These are advanced trails, so you need to be experienced, have a truck with full armor, a winch and at least one locker (not mandatory but would be a big plus). You also need to be “self sufficient” (aka ya need to be able to lead, tail gun, fix your truck, blah blah).

Groups will be limited to five, six at the most. If you are interested, post your RSVP on the forum here.

April Fools Run

Join Nexterra for our second “dual location” event.  This time we will be trails in Taunton and Freetown MA and Dragon’s Gorge near West Oneonta, NY on April 9, 2011.
The Massachusetts half of this run will be in Taunton and Freetown; two locations and 4-5 different trails/roads, all the trails are very stock friendly; the 2 trails in Taunton are only a mile apart and roughly 1 1/2 miles long each. Then it’s a 20 min drive south on the highway to the second location; there are two trails one is 2 1/2 miles long and the other is 2 miles long also (If open) there is a loop up and around a large ledge around 1 1/2 miles long.
The New York part of this run will be at Dragon’s Gorge near Oneonta, NY.  “Dragon’s Gorge” is the upstate New York private trails/testgrounds/homebase for Draken Off Road. Draken’s owner, Roby, has generously open these trails to us in the past and has offered them to us once again for this event.

At “Dragon’s Gorge” on Saturday you will be given a unique opportunity to run your truck on some very challenging trails located on private land in beautiful upstate New York. The trails are not that rocky but slick with a lot of tree roots that are hard to grip. Snow will make it much worse. Good tires are the priority.
