Thanks Ernie for leading today & the help with the repairs. And thanks Dave for letting me ride with you at Summit & sharing your experience with building the truck up..
This morning turned out to be a nice rainy day but my day wasn't so good. On the first trail climbing into Summit, kept losing power & had to leave the truck at the landing. Hopped in with Dave & his boys & had a blast riding shotgun & shooting video for once. The trail was a lot harder than I remembered it from last time. Definetly not a stock trail.
Once we got back to the landing at, we found that the hose going between my airbox & engine had a crack with was causing the engine to lose power on 1st gear. Ernie helped patch it up with duct tape to make it drivable.
We then loaded up & made our way to MaBell. I had to leave my truck again because of the power issue. Just started to make out way up when Dave's U-joint gave way. The rest of the rainy afternoon was spent with Ernie & Dave getting the U-joint/drive shaft fixed. Got some pics & video from Summit, will post up shortly.
What I learnt today was that 1. Duct tape is the best tool to have, 2. Need to order a spare U-joint & 3. save up for a locker.
