OK, so my friend's have been bugging me to get on a bike and give it a shot. Last weekend, I did just that since I really have wanted one. I was never into crotch rockets, but a nice cruiser would be perfect. Well it so happened that they had use of another friend's 1996 Yamaha Virago 535. It's a nice comfortable bike that isn't too heavy to learn on. Anyways, last Sunday they borrowed the bike and we went to the local community college parking lot. After a run through of the controls and feeling out the clutch, I was on my way around the lot. It was a blast, and I picked it up quickly. I was definitely hooked.
I drove that bike around quite a bit that day, and the next day as well. My wife gave me permission to use our stimulus check to purchase a bike. After going nuts and giving up the search for a bit, my friend came across a bike in my price range. So, to make a long story shorter, I now own a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 750 with some customizations.
