Pep, you can take it off, I took mine off about a year ago and I've never noticed any difference and my truck CAN do high speeds. :)

That's the funniest thing I've read this year. :)

Pete (my X) is like grace personified at aboot (oh, look, I'm Canadian now) 75-90 mph, he just glides....I'd hate to have him get all wiggly on me at those speeds.

I can't wait to remove it.....that would make my mods:

-removal of mud flaps.
-removal of car dealer plate holder.
-added yakima basketcase.
-added bugshield (which, at first, they gave me one for a frontier and acted like I was the retard when I told them it just wouldn't fit right!!!)
-added stickers.
-added birch tree trail damage.

and next....remove bar.

I'm pathetic. I need to get moving.............

OK just to make sure I'm not missing anything here... Dagger first gens' don't need this due to a solid rear tranfer/differntial case? Just trying to figure out why this was "skipped" on the first gen Xs in Jim' overall plans.

Our diffs are solid as a rock and don't need the added protection. The new X's just have a pressed sheet metal cover that tends to tear off when dragged over rocks and would survive backing into one.
