This is the ECXC Convoy thread for folks leaving from RI, MA, CT areas. If you're leaving from nearer NYC, check out Tom's thread.

Timing - Wednesday morning, 7/15, looking to get to Pine Grove, PA in the afternoon, ~2-3pm
Start - RI/MA with meet-ups along the way
Route - Mostly I84W. The RI/MA to CT to PA.

Potential lunch stop somewhere on the way.

If you plan on joining this convoy, please post up with your location.

Here's the route.

Meeting points:

RI - Leaving at 6.45am - McDonalds, 14 Kingstown Rd, Wyoming, RI

MA - TBD

CT - Leaving at 8.45am - TA Travel Center, 1875 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, Southington, CT'. ~2hrs of a drive for the guys from RI/MA

Chantelle and I will definitely meet up with you guys. We're in Johnston RI.

Ernie since your in Bristol which way are you coming? By 114 and 138 through Portsmouth and Jamestown or up and around through Seekonk and providence? If you go up and around we can meet you in Cranston or if through Portsmouth we can meet you in north Kingston... Dave where are you coming from?

Just realized, for Mike in Brockton, MA, taking I84 directly might be easier. Will let the guys in RI/MA figure out meeting points out there & the route you want to take to get to I84. I'll meet you some where in CT on I84W.

Updated the OP with a potential meeting spot on I84 in CT depending on route.

I'm in Middletown/Newport so Dave and I are going
138 to 1 south and back to 138 to 95 south

we are leaving at 6am from Newport so it's like 45 min to Wyoming / Richmond R.I.
Exit 3 on 95 off 138 so we could meet up with you in that area.
we are both towing so I know I won't be going that fast

I found a McDonalds just off 95s @ exit 3, rt.138
@ 14 Kingstown rd. Wyoming R.I. if you goggle it you can see it
it's next to, OS Job lot and stop and shop.


that way you can just jump on 95 and head down to us.
looks like 35 min to Exit 3 on 95 for you from Johnston going off 295.

so we should hit there around the same time

so I will need your cell # to call you guys when we are close to 95 and Mc' ds.

we will cut across from 9 to 66 to 691 then 322 at the TA.
looks like 2hrs. plus total for us after meeting up and getting going again
so we should see you around 8;15 8;30 which was the rough planned time
to all meet in CT anyway..


David and Mike are going 90 to 84 so they will be coming right by there.

Are you planning to meet me for lunch let last year?

we are all going up and around North on 84 to 81 down into Pa.
sorry prob. my fault.. I just needed a route to get away from heavy traffic and major ass hills towing the runner with the mountaineer is going to suck.
told everyone I'm going to be going slow , but then 2 rigs turned to 4 and ect.

We're skipping the traffic in NY this time & staying in I84. So, unfortunately we'll have to skip lunch at Porters.
