I'll be there all 4 days! Whether it's Rausch or Tennessee, I don't care.

I will be on the trails early and up drinking late.
Steve I don't see anybody from NEXterra going down to Tenn. if it's there. No one wants to drive 17-20 hours to there and hope not to break anything..

So that's why there's talk of us doing a big joint run between LINXC, UNYXC, NJAX and NEXTerra at Rausch instead..

Cool, thanks Gene. Where exactly would they plan on doing it in Tenn? Tellico is the only place I can think of in Tenn, but it's off limits for the next year...

I really don't think it will be in TN. Swampy would lose too many core people that have made this a great event year after year.

He may hold two events. One south and one up north.

From the ECXC site;

A few of us are planning to head to Rausch Creek on a few days this Spring/Summer prior to ECXC for a half day of wheeling/scouting and trail maintenance and wanted to know if others were interested in attending. We are just gauging interest in the dates folks are available and your selection of a date does not lock you into attending if you are not able to. These are the dates that Lynn at RC says we are able to come to do trail maintenance but there's nothing stopping you from making a weekend out of it if you want (but you'll have to pay to wheel the other day). Once we know what day(s) folks are interested in attenting Will will get in touch with Lynn to let her know what days we plan to attend. You may choose as many days as you think you'll be able to attend.

I'll be joining you all at least on the weekend, I'm hoping. Talked to swampwrecker and as long as I have my skins on I'm more than welcome to attend.

I won't be able to win any prizes if I enter the challenge though :lol:

What is the name of the campsite where we are crashing for the week? Or is it right at Rausch Creek?

Bad news - i've become doubtful for attending this year.

(for those that don't know) I missed last year due to financial reasons, and thanks to my Post Office job, things were looking a lot better. That is, until recently...I'm pretty much back to where I was 13 months ago.

I've been working as a subsitute rural carrier, so I cover for the regulars days off, sick days, and vacation days. The routes I work on got re-evaluated a couple of months ago, and the time to sort and deliver the routes went down, meaning the pay for everyone went down - and the number of free days off (days off given without the use of vacation or sick time due to the evaluated hour of work for the route) went down too. Basically I essentially lost work because none of the Rural carriers have any "free" days off.

Looking at the days of work I do have scheduled between Now and ECXC (8 days) and the excepted income versus my expenses - well, the bank account pretty much says this is a no go.

The good news is that there are a couple of job openings which I am applying for, and have a backup of appling for a full time carrier if those potential jobs don't go my way.

However, with a new job, there is no guarantee I'll be able to get the days for ECXC free.

I'll keep you all in the loop, but right now it's not looking too good for me.
