Last night I was in the Jeep and got pulled over by a very nice state trooper. He was only letting my know that I had no tail or brake lights. I was about 150 yards from my exit, so he told me to put my flashers on and be careful. No ticket, no warning, and luckily he didn't check my registration since it is expired.
This morning I checked the lights and found out that both sockets were rusted and shorted out. There was no way I was going to be able to fix it this morning, so I packed my tank bag with a change of clothes for my overnight shift, bundled up, and headed out for the first motorcycle commute of the year........in 30 degree weather!!!
Good thing I know how to layer and protect myself from the cold. I got to work with out getting much more than some chilly legs. The best part is that I used less than half as much gas as if I had taken the Jeep.
