What does something like that run? I am looking at a Hobart for 479 and will do 1/4 inch. That one looks like it will do 3 inches.

Considering that it came with a 6-month free financing deal, I'm thinking that it's not cheap.

Now, the question is; what does Jonelle think about all of this?

That thing is the best you can buy and goes for over 3gs new.
I don?t know about you guys but I never consult my wife about tool or truck purchases. They are ALL frivolous in her eyes.

List price is over 6k. The spooler alone is $1250. I paid less than 3k with tax. The welder is made by Systematics . I agree with Tom. As long as I am paying my bills and taking care of stuff, it's my money and I don't question what she does with hers. Besides, this is more than just a toy.

Miller now owns Hobart and it has become Miller's less expensive models. They are good welders, but their duty cycle is less and have many plastic parts, were on a Miller there are metal parts. I would have bought a Miller, but never found a good price. The one I got is every bit as good as a Miller, if not better quaility, and the price was right and it included all the extras. I have never welded with TIG, but now I am going to learn.
